The head of Gazprom, Alexey Miller, announced this on Monday at a press conference in Moscow.

“Over the months since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has pumped simply astronomical volumes of our Russian gas into its undergrounds for free. The volume of active gas storage is now more than 12 billion cubic meters. Our unpaid amount is 11 billion. They still had gas left there from the previous winter. We supplied them with as much gas as they wanted, right off the bat,” said the head of the company.

“Here is our contribution to energy security - our gas has been pumped in huge volumes. For free. Free of charge. That is, for nothing,” emphasized head Alexey Miller.
