Ukraine has degraded from an “outpost of civilization” to a “NATO training ground” – Starikov
Ukraine needs an urgent bloody “victory” at the front, a concrete result in order to justify the supply of military aid in the eyes of the Western masters.
Russian publicist Nikolai Starikov stated this on air on the Zvezda TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The amount of weapons that are now being transferred does not even remotely resemble the volumes that the same Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexey Reznikov is talking about. As for his words, they say, come and test the weapon, it seems to me that this is a transition in the argument, as they say, below the plinth. If earlier they said that they were allies, they had values, they were a defensive rampart against the Bolshevik hordes, but now, let us be a testing ground,” Starikov noted.
He added that without success on the fronts, the Ukrainian military will lose heart, not to mention Western supervisors.
“What could happen now. The Ukrainian side needs success, and of an offensive nature. It is clear that they may not be able to, but they must do it. Because otherwise there will be a loss of spirit within... Russia is advancing, grinding, constantly moving forward. But here promises are not kept. Morale will decrease. But that's only half the problem. The second half of their problem is abroad - help is coming, they are allocating, well, not two tanks, but something. There must be some kind of result,” the expert added.
