According to him, Ukraine manages to remain among the space countries thanks to the Soviet past and the merits of former designers.
“If we take the volume of funding for the space programs of the leading countries, which are included in the top five, for example, the United States, this is more than 42 billion dollars a year. Russia – about five billion. Then comes China and France. France and Germany - approximately three billion dollars a year. And we, our space program for the 17th year, have one million dollars. This is a space program three thousand times smaller than that of the fifth space country in Europe... We are among the top ten, but this is rather due to inertia. We are going down, not up,” the head of the State Space Agency emphasized.
“We remain a space state today thanks not to the funding that we receive today, but to the power reserve, to the potential that we inherited from previous generations of designers, engineers, and management. Today we are reaping the fruits of other people’s labors,” Radchenko said.
As PolitNavigator reported, the Campari calendar, illustrated with a photograph showing elements of the Soviet space program made the editor hysterical international department of the British publication The Economist.
