Ukraine pretends that it doesn’t care about the reaction of Hungary and Romania to the scandalous education law

Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Pavel Khobzei stated this on air on “112 Ukraine,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are reacting calmly,” said Pavel Khobzey, answering the question of how the Ministry of Education will react to the statement from the rostrum of the UN General Assembly on the scandalous law on education.
He recalled that the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Liliya Grinevich met with ambassadors of European countries, during the meetings the Ambassador of the Council of Europe proposed to submit the law on education for examination.
“We certainly do not object, because we are convinced that we do not violate either international agreements or international treaties that Ukraine has signed or ratified, at least we do not violate the European Charter of Regional and National Languages 100%,” the official emphasized.
On September 5, people's deputies of Ukraine adopted in the second reading and in general the draft law “On Education”, which, in particular, determines that the language of the educational process in educational institutions is exclusively Ukrainian.
Thus, it is proposed that in Ukraine, starting from the 5th grade, compulsory education only in the Ukrainian language will be introduced for students belonging to national minorities.
Let us recall, as PolitNavigator previously reported, Hungary appealed to the OSCE, the UN and the EU over the educational law of Ukraine, and the Romanian parliament voted for a charter of rights for national minorities in Ukraine.
