Ukraine pointedly ignored the round table in the European Parliament on the May 2 tragedy in Odessa
Ukrainian diplomats ignored the round table dedicated to the 2014 tragedies in Kyiv and Odessa and held in the European Parliament. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told reporters about this today.

“It is significant that Ukrainian diplomats, despite the invitation sent to them, pointedly ignored it. The participants demanded that the Ukrainian authorities stop delaying the investigation of these tragedies,” Zakharova said, noting that the round table was attended by Ukrainian politicians, journalists, as well as the deputy chairman of the OSCE monitoring mission in Ukraine.
“It was especially noted that radicals who openly admit to killing law enforcement officers in Kiev and unarmed people in Odessa walk freely, while anti-Maidan supporters in Odessa and their relatives are persecuted by Ukrainian government agencies and intimidated by Ukrainian nationalists,” Zakharova said.
She expressed deep regret at the fact that the majority of members of the European Parliament, the European structure as a whole, and the leading EU media, which in other cases show increased sensitivity to human rights issues, stubbornly turn a blind eye to the deliberate delay of the investigation and other crimes of the Kyiv authorities.
“We call on the international community, including human rights structures, NGOs to resolutely seek from the Ukrainian side a thorough, objective and impartial investigation, as well as bringing to justice those responsible for the tragedies in Kyiv and Odessa,” Zakharova said.
