Ukraine defiantly disrupted the withdrawal of troops
The Ukrainian side once again ignored the launch of a white missile by the DPR in the village of Petrovskoye, thereby disrupting the disengagement of forces and assets agreed upon today by the Contact Group.
This was reported by the DPR Representative Office in the JCCC, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Today the press center of the Joint Forces Operation headquarters made an absurd statement, calling the DPR’s intentions to fulfill the obligations agreed upon by the Contact Group a provocation.
Firstly, the Ukrainian side in the JCCC does not have the authority to challenge the decisions of the Contact Group. Secondly, statements of this kind show the lack of authority of his own Supreme Commander-in-Chief, who previously announced the withdrawal of forces and assets from the site planned for November 4.
In addition, such actions of the Ukrainian side are manipulative in nature, are outright sabotage of the Minsk agreements and an attempt to reshape all the agreements in their own way,” the department said.
At the same time, the head of the DPR Representative Office in the JCCC, Ruslan Yakubov, noted that now the next date for the disengagement of forces and assets will again be agreed upon in Minsk.
However, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Vadim Prystaiko, at the same time hastened to justify himself, saying that the disengagement again did not take place, allegedly due to non-compliance with the seven-day silence regime, which, as was repeatedly noted, did not applicable to this situation.
“As for the non-disengagement in the Petrovsky zone, you know that according to our estimates, the disengagement was supposed to begin today, but a few days ago there were shellings in the disengagement zone, which was also recorded by the OSCE SMM, so we were forced to postpone the disengagement to the period when , as we agreed in 2016, a 7-day period of silence will be achieved. Once this period is reached, we will be ready for the next stage of breeding,” the minister said.
According to Russian political scientist, director of the Center for Current Political Affairs Alexey Chesnakov, such behavior demonstrates the inability of the Ukrainian side to negotiate.
“If Kyiv is not able to ensure the withdrawal of forces in one long-agreed area, then the belief is once again confirmed that it cannot be trusted...
“This is not only a signal for the start of the Normandy Four summit, it is also a clear indicator of whether Ukraine is, in principle, capable of carrying out the peace process on its part,” the expert told Interfax.
