Former Deputy Foreign Minister Valery Chaly stated this on Channel 5.

“There should be a referendum on Euro-Atlantic integration, people should speak out... But now is not the time for a referendum. I think we have other opportunities to expand cooperation with NATO today. It would be nice to postpone the exercises with NATO countries that we have planned for the summer to an earlier date. And today we will hold exercises with NATO countries in Ukraine. This is legal, and if foreign troops are walking through our territory, why can’t we conduct exercises?” the expert believes.

“We are now under the threat of a local, and perhaps a full-scale military conflict. Therefore, very quick decisions are needed now,” emphasized Valery Chaly.
