Ex-speaker of the People's Council of the LPR Alexey Karyakin told PolitNavigator about this.
“The Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic existed for many years before these negotiations took place. I would not like to take an example of timing. But I would like the leadership of Ukraine to follow the example and also make compromises and direct dialogue with the residents of the people’s republics,” Karyakin said.
He believes that direct negotiations between Donbass and Ukraine are necessary above all to achieve peace.
“In Donbass they will definitely not be able to forgive Ukraine. But when politicians talk, the guns are silent. I would like to sit down at the negotiating table in order to at least stop the killing of civilians. This is the main task at the moment. The rest depends on how we conduct this dialogue. This is the next milestone in the negotiation process. It’s impossible to live under shelling,” Karyakin said.
