This is stated in the publication of the Kyiv publication “Business.Censor”.
“Biological protection agents refer to predatory mites that protect crop plants from certain pests. How it works? They release a batch of these mites (which are absolutely safe for people) into the greenhouse, and they destroy their natural enemies,” the publication says.
The publication reports that Ukraine exported mites worth $2017 thousand in 653. The mites were supplied to two countries - Russia and Kazakhstan. The first accounted for more than half of the volume.
Insects were supplied by three companies: Bioproduction LLC ($120 thousand), Bio Protection LLC ($381 thousand) and Raising Results LLC ($150 thousand).
Ukraine exported spiders worth $3,8 thousand. Tarantulas, tarantulas, Brachypelma boemi, Balfour's Monocentropus and Trinidadian chevron were supplied to other countries.
Among them, the most exported were tarantulas - 120 pieces and tarantulas - 110 pieces. Only one company exported spiders - Bion Terrarium-Center LLC. The company sold most of its spiders to Japan.
