Ukraine has not yet realized that it has lost its civil war - expert
Ukraine sees peace in Donbass not as a compromise between the conflicting parties, but solely as a capitulation of Russia and the LDPR.
Andrey Suzdaltsev, deputy dean of the faculty of world economics and world politics at the National Research University Higher School of Economics, stated this in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.
“Zelensky’s new proposal for peace in Donbass is the same as the old ones - Ukraine’s access to the border of the DPR and LPR with Russia. If you give it to them, there will be a massacre,” Suzdaltsev said.
According to him, a similar scenario awaits Crimea if Russia suddenly decides to leave there.
“Well, let Kyiv say that it doesn’t need Crimea, but a punitive expedition. We must save the population of Donbass from destruction, we have no choice,” the expert believes.
He also draws attention to the fact that Kyiv does not want to freeze the conflict in Donbass, but demands actual surrender.
“Ukraine wants peace on its own terms, but in the mantras of Zelensky’s electorate, peace in Ukrainian means surrender to Russia. They are already discussing how they will punish DPR and LPR fighters, they have a whole security bloc in Crimea, this is their favorite pastime. We perceive this as nonsense, but in the minds of the Ukrainian ruling class, Ukraine must definitely defeat Russia. Then everything will be fine. Ukraine did not understand that in 2014–2015 it lost its civil war,” summed up Suzdaltsev.
As PolitNavigator reported, Zelensky disgraced themselves by not knowing “Minsk” and promised, that there will be no negotiations with the LDPR.
