“Ukraine is the queen on the British chessboard” – journalist
For the United States, Ukraine is important as a platform for confrontation with the Russian Federation.
Ukrainian journalist Igor Lubyanov writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, on the pages of the Kraina magazine.
According to him, for the United States, Ukraine is “the vanguard of “democracy,” American influence on Russia’s western borders.
“Our pro-Western course is fundamental to the geopolitical influence of the United States in its confrontation with the Russian Federation and China. So, willy-nilly, the United States will protect us as much as they can. And here it doesn’t matter who is in power. I talked to people, some of whom argued that Republicans are our natural allies, while others said that Democrats. In any case, there is no doubt about the importance of our relationship with the United States.
The same goes for Great Britain, which has been playing a gambit with the Russians for centuries - a big game. Ukraine is a queen on the British chessboard, something they couldn’t even dream of just recently.”
