Ukraine is preparing a trick to get Donbass into NATO
One of the strategies being developed in Kyiv is an application for consent to the implementation of the Minsk agreements, but with a reservation - for example, relating only to the temporary right of veto of Donbass on Ukraine’s accession to NATO.
Ukrainian political scientist Dmitry Dzhangirov said this on the YouTube channel “Politwera”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“At the expert level, this came up several times in past years, for example, that there would be a moratorium on Ukraine’s entry into NATO for the duration of the reintegration of Donbass. The second option is Donbass has the right of veto for some time, for 20 years,” the political scientist said.
“And on what basis, in what status can Donbass claim the right of veto?” – the presenter clarified.
“As a separate unit, in accordance with the Minsk agreements, reintegrated under special conditions. That is, the Minsk process becomes decisive, plus the Minsk process “with aggravations”. There is such an option, it has been studied. But this is unlikely for internal political reasons,” Dzhangirov replied.
