Ukraine is preparing a telephone blockade for Crimea
Kyiv, October 16 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - Ukraine wants to arrange a complete telephone blockade for Crimea - to prohibit its own, as well as foreign operators, from servicing Crimean numbers of both landline and mobile communications.
The Kiev newspaper Capital writes about this.

According to the publication, Kyiv intends to appeal to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the UN.
In a week, the ITU meeting will take place in South Korea. The Ukrainian side is seeking that all telecommunication operators be given a recommendation to route traffic to and from Crimea using the Ukrainian code +380.
If such a resolution is adopted, then not only operators from Crimea will not be able to use the Russian code for international communications, but also Russian calls will not be able to be terminated to Crimean numbers of operators with the code +7, which have recently appeared there, the newspaper writes.
It is interesting that the first call for a boycott of Sevastopol landlines was published by Rinat Akhmetov’s Ukrtelecom company, which was recently forced out of the peninsula.
The Ukrainian subsidiary of the Russian communications company MTS has already announced its readiness to join the boycott.
“We block traffic to numbers with codes assigned to Crimea by the Russian Federation. As for traffic in the opposite direction, we are now analyzing whether there is such traffic, what its volumes are, and we will also block it,” Victoria Ruban, head of the public relations department at MTS Ukraine, said in an interview with the Capital newspaper.
Similar measures were announced in the press service of Kyivstar.
