Ukraine is preparing new missiles against the Russian fleet
Security Council Secretary Alexander Turchynov reported on the next successful stage of testing new Ukrainian missiles, which Kyiv plans to put into service to deter the Russian fleet in the Black and Azov Seas.
Exercises to hit targets at long range took place at a military training ground in the Odessa region. A special point was equipped on Zmeiny Island, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Turchinov said that to test the accuracy and reliability of hitting the “aggressor’s” watercraft with S-125 missile systems, 8 launches were carried out against surface targets.
“Based on the results of the destruction of watercraft, the modernized S-125s have proven their effectiveness. 8 launches took place during which 8 surface targets were destroyed. This is a very good result, which proves that these modernized systems are capable of providing reliable protection against aggression from both air and sea, and will significantly strengthen the coastal defense of the Black Sea and Azov coasts,” noted the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
