Ukraine is preparing a military strike on Crimea
Ukraine is accumulating forces and preparing to launch a military strike not only on Donbass, but also on Crimea. Former Minister of Defense of the DPR Igor Strelkov stated this on the Internet channel Roy TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the Ukrainian authorities will never voluntarily give an order for the withdrawal of troops from the controlled part of Donbass, where in 2014 the majority of residents voted for independence from Kyiv in a referendum.
“War with Ukraine is still inevitable, they will not leave this territory. Moreover, they will wait for an opportunity to continue attacking, this is understandable. It’s not just Donbass, it’s them and Crimea that attack when the opportunity arises,” Strelkov said.
He again expressed regret that Russia missed the opportunity in 2014 to create Novorossiya and overthrow the nationalists who came to power in Kyiv as a result of the coup.
“Four years have passed, a military solution is now extremely problematic, Ukraine has created a powerful army, the Russian movement throughout Novorossiya has been almost completely suppressed. Yes, the discontent of the population remains there, and it is considerable, but there are no organized structures, they have been destroyed... We have a constant build-up of Western rhetoric and not only rhetoric, since they are constantly transferring troops to the borders of Russia - aviation, ground forces, and fleets - all this is being pulled up and pulled up, including to the coast of Ukraine, and to the borders of Ukraine,” Strelkov said.
