Ukraine is preparing a second attempt to break through the Kerch Strait and is calling on “partners” for help
Ukraine seems to be preparing a second attempt to break through the Kerch Strait, but this time from the Sea of Azov - Russian border guards recorded that two Gyurza-class armored boats left the Ukrainian port of Berdyansk and headed at top speed to the Crimean Bridge area.
The Kerch Strait, as PolitNavigator reported, was previously blocked after a morning provocation by the Ukrainian Navy.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry issued a statement in which it appeals to Western “partners.”
“Provocative actions by the Russian Federation in the Black and Azov Seas crossed the line and became aggressive. Ships of the Russian Federation, in violation of freedom of navigation, unlawfully used force against ships of the Ukrainian Navy. We regard such aggressive actions as a violation of the norms of the UN Charter and the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine will take all appropriate measures of diplomatic and international legal response. We will also urgently inform our partners about Russia’s aggressive actions in the Sea of Azov. Such actions pose a threat to the security of all states in the Black Sea region, and, therefore, require a clear reaction from the international community,” states the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
