Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova agreed to fight together against the EU wall
Kyiv, Tbilisi and Chisinau have united into an “associated trio” on the path to integration into the European Union.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba stated this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today we signed a document that creates an associated trio. This will be enhanced cooperation between our three countries on the issue of European integration. This initiative and decision is very timely, it will help our three countries move forward more effectively,” Kuleba announced following a meeting with his Georgian and Moldovan colleagues.
According to him, the “associated trio” includes three main elements.
“This is structuring consultations on integration between the three foreign ministries of countries, as well as joining the dialogue with European institutions, as well as coordinating our position within the framework of the Eastern Partnership.
Today’s memorandum of understanding sets out a common agenda in our movement towards the EU and sets out the intention to get into the European perspective for our countries and the realization of our ambitions for membership in Europe,” says the Minister.
“We will work in the field of sectoral cooperation, as well as progressive integration into the EU market. Today we came to the conclusion that this will be the main focus in the work of our associated trio,” Kuleba said.
In addition, the Ukrainian minister noted the security direction in the common work of the three countries “to support stability in the region.” Also, according to him, the “trio” is called upon to prepare the next meeting of the Eastern Partnership.
“Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova believe that it is necessary to deepen relations with EU countries... The associated trio is our signal, which indicates that there is no alternative to European integration for our three partner countries. And there is also no alternative for Europe, which must perceive our three countries as a union project to ensure peace and prosperity in Europe,” Kuleba concluded.
