Ukraine: the final sale of the remains of the country is coming

The new government, which came after the violent overthrow of the Yanukovych regime, is experiencing an acute lack of legitimacy. This deficit was not reduced by the presidential elections in Ukraine, which were held with a lot of violations, the main one being the non-participation of several million citizens.

That is why all the actions taken by the authorities are shaky and unstable, and the main thing they chose to strengthen them is the technology of an external enemy. A plane crash is just an excuse to tighten the screws even more. The day before the tragedy, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced another wave of cuts in social spending in favor of military spending.

In March, 40 billion hryvnia were cut at the expense of the poorest social strata, and it is planned to cut about 15 billion more.

We will freeze and remain silent

Thus, two days ago, Minister of Fuel and Energy Prodan announced a planned reduction in gas consumption standards for housing and communal services by 30%, for budgetary institutions (schools, hospitals, kindergartens) by 10%. This will lead to a decrease in the heating temperature norm by 2 degrees. Considering that heating in Ukraine is already not so great, and very often is not observed even according to pre-crisis standards, they will heat it in such a way that it is a little “chewy.”

Two days ago, Yatsenyuk said that everyone who is protesting now, for example, for raising social standards, are ALL employees of the FSB, or are playing into their hands. That is, a student who came out to picket the administration for an increase in scholarship is an FSB agent, a pensioner demanding better heating - generally a saboteur.

Privatization during the period of devaluation and economic decline

Even a non-economics specialist will say that carrying out privatization during the period of devaluation of the hryvnia means selling the real sector of the economy for pieces of paper. Yatsenyuk is not a fool, but he does this deliberately. Buying assets during a period of decline is the desire of those who started the Euromaidan revolution, and the Prime Minister is simply carrying out the established plan.

So, on July 10, at the congress of farmers (where else?) he announced the largest-scale privatization in 20 years. In general, the following will be put up for sale:  Ukrspirt concern; National Exhibition Center "Expocenter of Ukraine" (formerly VDNKh of the Ukrainian SSR - more than 283 hectares); Ukrnafta; Odessa Port Plant (terminal point of the Tolyatti-Gorlovka-Odessa ammonia pipeline); "Turboatom" (Kharkov Turbine Plant, produces turbines for thermal power plants and nuclear power plants, hydraulic turbines for hydroelectric power stations and pumped storage power plants); Sumykhimprom (99,7%) and ZTMC (51%). In the future - almost the entire range of titanium products: titanium dioxide, titanium slag and sponge, titanium ingots and slabs (ZTMC); Centrenergo is one of several energy generating companies in Ukraine. Includes 3 thermal power plants (Tripolskaya, Uglegorskaya, Zmievskaya) with a total installed capacity of 7575 MW (15% of the entire electric power industry in Ukraine), etc.

Back in 2009, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, with a smart look and gentle eyes, said that the privatization of Turboatom planned by the then government was a crime, and that it was a blow to the strategic position of Ukraine in the energy sector, no less, no less, in the whole of Eurasia.

Turboatom is a unique enterprise, the ownership of which provides not only direct profit to the state, but also strategic, prolonged, long-term profit for the entire industry.

The situation is similar with the Odessa port port, which is the most important hub in the production, and most importantly the transportation and sale of ammonia, urea and other chemical products. In fact, it is the gateway to the chemical industry of the entire country. At the same time, in 2008, under the Tymoshenko government, the Odessa port port was valued at 5-7 billion hryvnia, which then could reach an amount of $1 billion. Today this amount, for which they plan to sell the plant, is only $420-600 million. Moreover, even $1 billion was assessed by experts in 2009 as an underestimated amount, and the planned privatization was canceled by Viktor Yushchenko.

The same story with Ukrspirt. Privatization of the alcohol industry and its final removal from the sphere of state ownership will not only bring huge profits to private corporations who bought the enterprise for next to nothing during the fall of the market, but will also weaken control over the quality of products and increase the power of soldering the population.

As a result, strategic enterprises in the food, chemical, fuel refining, mining (titanium), engineering and energy industries (15% of the country’s total energy sector) will be sold for pieces of paper at at least half the price. That is, everything that remains valuable.

Suicide? No - murder!

The Kolomoisky-Eremeev-Firtash quarrel that has begun is a fight for pieces in the upcoming privatization. Kolomoisky, who owns a significant part of its assets, seeks to completely take over Ukrnafta. Titan and Chemistry is managed by Firtash, whom Kolomoisky has been trying to interfere with since 2009 in the process of privatization of the Odessa port. The plant, by the way, operates on Russian gas supplies, and this is Dmitry Firtash’s favorite area of profit.

Another point of conflict between Firtash and Kolomoisky is Sumykhimprom.

Akhmetov could lay claim to Centrenergo, but the businessmen of the Privat group are trying hard to knock him out of the game.

Brought in 583 million UAH last year. Turboatom's profits are a tasty morsel for even larger players, but instability in the country may scare them away. As a result, three or four oligarchs, at least two of whom participated in the financing of the Euromaidan, will divide the remaining Ukrainian assets.

The second stage of cutting social services is a requirement of the IMF, which today, July 18, nevertheless promised a second tranche of the loan. Trade war with Russia and complete bilateral cessation of trade cooperation between Ukraine and Russiaannounced by Yatsenyuk is the destruction of entire sectors of Ukrainian industry.

Yatsenyuk, when he makes such statements, does not voice his dreams. He voices the persistent voice of those who are very interested in this. At the same time, speaking about the complete cessation of trade with Russia, he manages to accuse Ukrainian producers of zero activity in the “open” European market, they say, they are not looking for a replacement for Russia.

And the manufacturers have nothing to do with it. Relations with a product supplier have been developing for more than one year, and changing them in the EU countries is only possible if the price of an adequate previously supplied product is reduced not even by 10-15%, but up to 30%. At the same time, the supplier must prove its reliability, but how can this be done in a warring country with cyclical coups and overthrows of governments?

The product must meet standards and be of very high quality. And even after this, it is necessary to overcome the lobbying groups of European industrialists and suppliers of agricultural products. And this is the hardest thing to do...

As a result: Ukraine will lose the remnants of economic independence. Social services will be destroyed. Three oligarchs will receive excess profits. The country will receive multi-billion dollar loans, which, of course, will be placed on the necks of ordinary citizens.

The revolution of “goodness” after all...
