Ukraine and Lithuania traded between themselves for $1 billion
Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groysman and Prime Minister of Lithuania Saulius Skvernelis note an increase in trade turnover between the two countries in 2017, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine and Lithuania note the growth of bilateral trade, the volume of which exceeded $1 billion, and are strengthening the logistics capabilities of both countries,” the press service of the Ukrainian government reported on Thursday following the meeting of the two prime ministers.
Groysman noted “Lithuania’s active position in promoting the idea of the European Investment Plan for Ukraine at various international platforms, drew attention to the high dynamics of trade and economic cooperation and significant prospects for increasing the volume of freight traffic between the ports of the Black and Baltic Seas, including the Viking container train.” .
The parties also discussed the situation in Donbass and the need to create a peacekeeping mission in the region. In addition, the prime ministers separately reviewed the situation around the Russian Nord Stream 2 project and agreed on the need to counteract the implementation of this initiative.
The information accompanying the message states that at the end of 2017, the volume of bilateral trade in goods between Ukraine and Lithuania increased by 23,4% and amounted to $1,054 billion.
