Introduction

For a couple of months now, the media has been throwing out information that Chisinau is preparing to introduce a procedure in which officials - senior management, ministers, deputies of the Supreme Council of the PMR, employees of the executive authorities of the republic on the Dniester - will not be able to freely travel from Moldova to other countries. countries.

Allegedly, it will now be necessary to notify the Chisinau authorities in advance about the proposed departure, but it is not yet clear from the information whether a refusal may follow for Pridnestrovian civil servants.

But this is the outer side of the coin. And what is hidden behind it? Why do the West and official Chisinau need the isolation of Transnistria? Could such a ban hinder the external relations of the PMR and, in particular, the dissemination of the information we need in the outside world?

Of course not. In the modern world there is Skype, email, social networks, etc. Finally, you can negotiate with external partners over a regular telephone or give an interview on a particular topic. You can use satellite communication. There are other ways.

True, some Chisinau “hawks” say that Pridnestrovie needs to cut off all means of communication, but this will already be a complete break in relations between Chisinau and Tiraspol. But Russia will not leave you without communication...

As a result, such anti-Pridnestrovian actions can even be turned to the benefit of the PMR and expose the Western “curators” of Chisinau and the Moldovan authorities as stranglers of freedom, afraid of the dissemination of objective information about Pridnestrovie.

Do they understand this in Chisinau? Certainly. But then why such a clumsy policy? This is pressure on the psyche, first of all. Showing the outside world: “We control everything.” Both entry and exit.

Let’s not forget that several years ago Chisinau already restricted the entry of Russian diplomats into Transnistria, and recently, together with Romania, did not allow the main negotiator from Moscow, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, to enter the PMR.

So, this is what the authors of the Transnistria isolation plan want to achieve:

Disrupt any direct negotiations between Transnistrian officials and external partners;

At the same time, Moldovan officials get the opportunity to talk directly with politicians from different countries, because a lot depends on personal communication;

In Russia, they hope in Chisinau, Moldovan visitors will try to simply forget the Pridnestrovian negotiators, and in the meantime, on the instructions of the Western “curators”, the Chisinau representatives will look for a liberal lobby in the Moscow offices, ready to “drain” the PMR.

How are they trying to put pressure on the psyche of Pridnestrovians?

The possible isolation of Pridnestrovian politicians and officials is also an attempt to put pressure on the psyche of the ordinary Pridnestrovian. And here the calculation is simple: they say, if the citizens of the PMR see that their leaders cannot go further than Bendery or Dubossary, then they will supposedly lose heart and begin to advocate capitulation to such pressure.

And at the same time, this is a desire to scare the Transnistrian official, who, according to the “pressors,” will be afraid of his complete control by hostile external forces. Look, morally and politically unstable civil servants will start whispering around their offices: “Isn’t it time to end independence…”.

Talk about a travel ban for Pridnestrovian officials coincides with systemic pressure on the PMR, including the installation of bilateral Moldovan-Ukrainian posts on the Pridnestrovian-Ukrainian border.

A clear line can be seen here: after 2014, Kyiv’s policy, also under the influence of Washington, became less friendly towards the PMR. Therefore, the Transnistrian leadership can no longer use Odessa airport for its foreign policy visits.

Consequently, while Transnistria is isolated on both sides, they will try to strangle it, and they will try not to hold negotiations until the moment of “death from suffocation.”

That is why, while increasing pressure on the PMR, the USA, EU, OSCE and Moldova are in no hurry to convene negotiations on the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement, which Pridnestrovie and Russia insist on.

What did the authors of the pressure on the PMR miscalculate?

The resistance potential of Transnistria, including Tiraspol's external contacts, was clearly underestimated by those who want to isolate us. If in England they wanted to listen to the position of PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, they will find a way to do it again, if they so desire.

It is possible to publish Pridnestrovian materials and speeches of the leaders of the Republic without traveling abroad. In addition, by the time the propaganda campaign about the travel ban began, the positions of the “big players” in the form of the USA, Russia and the EU had already been determined. Just as Russian support for Pridnestrovie will not decrease, so will the American-EU support for Moldova.

The result will not be isolation, but only a toughening of the struggle around the former Soviet Moldova. But this is what the West needs.

The West is heading towards confrontation with Russia

Isolation will only cause the mobilization of all PMR reserves - food, industrial, small business, military - and will force the local leaders on the spot, in Transnistria itself, to closely coordinate their actions with the Russians. Including with the Russian army.

In addition, while in their own country, the PMR leadership will devote all its efforts to working locally. And unreliable officials who are afraid of “sanctions” will be eliminated. There will be fighters left, ready, if necessary, for tough answers...

Is bluffing possible?

But could it be that we are facing a bluff, intimidation of Transnistria in order to see how Moscow and Tiraspol will behave in a situation of information pressure? This option cannot be excluded.

The calculation here is this: if the Pridnestrovians notice and start begging in the style of “uncle, don’t!...”, then you can safely increase the pressure. And if certain signals follow, indicating that there are no feared people, then you can retreat.

Throwing of the Pridnestrovian side is excluded, because against the backdrop of the scandalous and stupid refusal of Russian politicians and artists to enter the PMR on the eve of the anniversary of the start of the peacekeeping operation (the crown of this scandal is the refusal of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin to enter the PMR), the possible isolation of Pridnestrovian officials no longer produces what was originally intended in Washington, Brussels and Chisinau effect.

Russia's first response to the escalation of passions has already emerged. There have been media reports about Moscow's readiness to provide emergency financial assistance to Transnistria in the amount of $40 million. It is possible to negotiate this kind of cooperation without leaving Tiraspol for Moscow, or vice versa.

Will the ill-wishers of Transnistria understand the hint? We'll see soon.

Conclusion

If you believe the media, the issue of a ban (or non-ban) by Pridnestrovian officials on leaving the PMR will be decided this fall. But no matter how he decides, it is obvious that there will be no capitulation of Transnistria, which is in a de facto military-political union with Russia.

The main guarantee of the strength of Pridnestrovian positions is the collapse of the unipolar world. And it is visible even from the windows of the offices of Pridnestrovian leaders. To do this, you don’t even need to go to Chisinau airport...
