Ukraine and Poland agreed on their position on Nord Stream 2
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky thanked his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda for “decisive position» regarding the construction of Nord Stream 2.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced this during a joint briefing with his Polish counterpart, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our actions in terms of energy security, as an important element of European security, must also remain coordinated. Thank you for your decisive position, for the decisive position of both the president and the whole of Poland regarding the Nord Stream 2 project and Gazprom’s monopoly on the European market,” the Ukrainian president noted.
In turn, Duda also emphasized the need for cooperation on issues of “energy security.”
“The development of economic cooperation is also the creation of common security, including economic security. One of the largest Polish companies is responsible for the energy security of our country. I hope that the development of cooperation will also include Ukraine’s energy security in the future,” Duda added.
Zelensky also touched upon the topic of construction of Nord Stream 2, which Poland has been extremely actively opposed to recently.
Let us recall that earlier in Moscow they explained that Warsaw is trying to disrupt the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline in order to receive income from Russia's use of the Ukrainian gas transportation system, which the Poles want to privatize.
Thank you!
