Ukraine searched for recordings of negotiations on a captured Russian tanker
On a Russian tanker seized by the SBU, Ukrainian security forces are, in particular, interested in recordings of negotiations made at the end of 2018 during an attempt to break through the Kerch Strait by Ukrainian Navy boats, which resulted in the surrender of Ukrainian sailors.
This was announced by the chief military prosecutor of Ukraine Anatoly Matios.
“Now a group of SBU investigators, military prosecutors and border guards on the specified tanker have completed investigative actions authorized by the Ukrainian court - a search in order to establish the factual circumstances of the case, seizure of documents from the court, recordings of radio conversations during the conflict, and logbooks. The crew of the vessel was interrogated, the documents necessary to establish the truth in the proceedings were seized... The specified vessel was recognized as material evidence, and a petition to the court for its arrest is being prepared,” Matios said.
He published a photograph of the sailor's Russian passports seized from the crew members.
