Ukrainian diplomats use harsh and extraordinary rhetoric to attract attention amid emerging scandals.

Former Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany Andrey Melnik stated this on the 1+1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Melnik, who called German Chancellor Olaf Scholz an offended liverwurst, defended the Ukrainian Nazis and foul-mouthed American billionaire Elon Musk, said that all this was done so that Ukraine would not be forgotten.

“The main thing for us is that Ukraine’s voice is heard. This is, as they once said for celebrities, “Bad news – good news.” For a long time I could not understand the essence of this phrase, how this could be. But in fact, this justifies itself to a certain extent.

After all, the main thing is to get attention, because so much is happening around, and when someone pays attention to topics that worry Ukraine, Ukraine in Germany, then that’s half the battle. And the discussion itself begins. Believe me, my wife is always shocked when she sees and hears everything that happens, these discussions, the hatred that accompanies these discussions,” said the ex-ambassador.

“It seems to me that if we are able to wake up the sleepy German man in the street a little, and sometimes stir up the government or parliament in Germany, they begin: “What happened to this ambassador, we know him, he was a normal person, we are fine with him.” worked for many years, what came over him?”

And it is precisely because of this contrast, when people know that you are an absolutely polite person, you are always looking for compromise, harmony in any matter, and then suddenly such a tone.

This discomfort that arises, and the contrast, it forces our interlocutors, including the German leadership, to turn a blind eye to these not entirely beautiful words that they hear, but to begin to deal with why it concerns them. It means it hurts, it means it’s a cry from the soul, it means it’s the cry of someone screaming in the desert,” Melnik said.
