Ukraine needs at least 60 thousand peacekeepers for the operation in Donbass. This figure was announced on the NewsOne TV channel by Deputy Minister for “Occupied Territories” Georgiy Tuka, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to him, in the short term, the UN contingent will not appear on the demarcation line.
“If we are talking about the next month, then nothing will happen; in the next six months, it’s unlikely that anything will happen. Because even if the Security Council makes a positive decision on the resolution, based on certain bureaucratic mechanisms that exist in the UN for organizing such missions, at least a year may pass. Therefore, we need to talk about the near future very carefully. If we take into account the number of peacekeepers who were deployed in the Balkans, then according to our calculations, based on the area of the territory and the perimeter of the border, at least 60 thousand peacekeepers are needed,” said Tuka.
