Ukraine wants to become a “European Israel” for the United States
Ukraine should replace pleading rhetoric about NATO membership with bilateral cooperation with the United States.
Valentin Bardrak, director of the Center for Army, Conversion and Disarmament Research, writes about this in an article on the pages of the Kyiv weekly “Mirror of the Week,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the context of tectonic shifts in NATO, the emphasis should be shifted to organizing bilateral cooperation with the United States. This does not change the attitude towards the transition to Alliance standards, but the pleading rhetoric with membership in the organization should be replaced with more effective “working” interaction. And this is not so much the intercompatibility of troops as the interpenetration of technologies, measured purchases of certain elements of Western weapons,” the author believes.
“But the most important thing is the organization of systematic and calibrated work towards rapprochement with the United States (which has not really happened until now, despite the fiery rhetoric of the fifth president). Experts at the Ukrainian Institute for Security Studies believe that under certain circumstances, Ukraine could become a “European Israel” for the United States, with all the ensuing consequences,” writes Badrak.
As PolitNavigator reported, General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was not afraid to saythat Ukraine does not need NATO.
