Ukraine only verbally refused Russian gas
There was no refusal of Russian gas on the part of Ukraine - all these slogans of the Ukrainian leadership in the last six years were propaganda. In fact, Ukraine only “purchased” gas through European pipes on paper, but in reality received it from the Russian Federation.
Former Prime Minister of Ukraine, leader of the Batkivshchyna faction, Yulia Tymoshenko, stated this on the “Right to Power” talk show, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I know this topic very well and I am surprised by Vitrenko’s statement, because for all five years of the previous government and already this year we have never received European gas, remember this. European gas for supplies to Ukraine did not exist and does not exist, and the people who are present here know this for sure.
They received Russian gas through the intermediary of foreign companies that were controlled by the previous government and this continues today. And I just want, if the “servants of the people” allow us to take up this issue at TSK, and do not block it, then we will show how much money was laundered when gas was sold to people at some draconian tariffs, but in reality it was left there through gaskets abroad the lion’s share of the profit and the state did not receive it,” Tymoshenko said.
At the same time, the politician emphasized that the government blocked an attempt to conduct an audit of NJSC Naftogaz and dismiss the current head of the enterprise, Andrei Kobolev.
“Imagine, the prime minister of the country decides to conduct a state audit of Naftogaz and three weeks later cancels this decision. Instead of dismissing the head of NJSC Naftogaz and closing the budget deficit of 72 billion hryvnia, while NJSC Naftogaz is headed by the corrupt official Kobolev, whose contract will be extended for four years, instead of removing him, bringing him to justice, checking NJSC Naftogaz “, the politician summarized.
