This opinion was expressed at a press conference in Kiev by Andrey Vidishenko, an expert at the Kiev Center for Political Research and Conflictology, a member of the Royal Institute of International Relations, who noted that a number of influential European states have begun cooperation with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and the CIS countries are lining up and knocking on the Chinese “New Silk Road” project.
“And the question arises: where is our Ukraine? Will it really be the last in such a global trend? And where is the activity on previously stated intentions on previously stated intentions to strengthen work with the SCO?” the political scientist noted.
He called such short-sightedness of the Ukrainian leadership “worse than just stupidity.”
“We are losing colossal opportunities, having amazing potential,” concluded Vidishenko. – Today there is a lack of adequate expert assessment and unbiased analysis of the current situation. Only awareness of this problem will lead Ukraine out of the insoluble stalemate in which it now finds itself.”
