“Ukraine has deprived migrants and refugees of work” – Popenko
Most people in Ukraine are not provided with pensions, and displaced persons and refugees have nowhere to look for work, while local authorities turn a blind eye to this.
The head of the Ukrainian Union of Utility Consumers Oleg Popenko stated this during a forum in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I would like to return to the main issue - social policy. My opinion is that there is no social policy in Ukraine. She hasn’t been around for at least the last 8-10 years, she hasn’t been around at all. Because the main components of social policy in Ukraine do not work, or they do not exist at all. Can we assume that 60% of people are socially provided with pensions? Of course not. Can we consider that we are dealing with a difficult situation; indeed, there is now a huge problem, the problem of migrants and displaced people. Has at least one problem been solved?
Please tell me, we have 8 million displaced people and refugees in Ukraine. Have you heard of at least one employment program for refugees and migrants in Ukraine? Or one speech by governors or someone else about the employment of these people? There are no such programs in Ukraine, no employment, no refugees, no financial assistance or anything else,” Popenko concluded.
Thank you!
