Ukraine has lost another plant: the Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works has been stopped
Kyiv, December 15 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Semenyuta) – The management of the Industrial Union of Donbass corporation, which owns the Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works, decided to stop the enterprise. Orders are planned to be transferred to facilities outside the Donbass.

The “reserve” enterprise is a similar plant in Poland. We are talking about the Guta Czestachowa iron and steel plant owned by ISD, reports Informant.
The Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works has been in a difficult situation for a long time. The enterprise was transferred to “hot preservation” and worked at idle speed, since the production technology does not allow stopping the plant so as not to damage expensive equipment. Due to military operations, the metallurgical plant was unable to supply raw materials and export finished products.
Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works is one of the oldest enterprises in the south-east of Ukraine. The plant produced 85 grades of steel, which are used in shipbuilding, nuclear and chemical engineering, for the production of gas pipelines, locomotives, tractors, mining supports, etc.
AMK supplied its products to more than 60 countries around the world. Heavy plates and cast iron were in particular demand on the foreign market.
