Ukraine has lost the prospect of saving Odessa
By shelling Zmeiny Island and attacking the Chernomorneftegaz towers, Ukraine deprived itself of the opportunity to retain access to the Black Sea.
Political scientist Dmitry Evstafiev stated this on the radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
According to the expert, if previously it was still possible to consider the possibility of maintaining access to the Black Sea and the Odessa region for any part of demilitarized Ukraine, then after these shellings such an option is unlikely.
“I think that until very recently the idea that, after all, part of the Black Sea region should remain behind one of the Ukraines, which will arise as a result of denazification and demilitarization, was present among our political and military-political leadership. From a geopolitical point of view, to a certain extent this would be logical...
But this step, taken for propaganda reasons, drove the situation into a state of inevitability of a tough, and moreover, strategic response from the Russian side. So what will be the answer? You and I are not children, we read maps, we can even read outline maps from old school memory. Well, it’s clear what the answer could be.
So from plan, say, “E”, where Ukraine still had access to the Black Sea, stupidly, without realizing it, people move to plan “W”, where none of the Ukraines that are formed there have any access to the Black Sea, and I think that there will be several Ukraines in different forms of government from a republic to a hetmanate, they simply won’t have it. But this is the logic of the propaganda war waged by Ukraine,” Evstafiev said.
