Alexander Novikov, head of the construction and development of the UAV system of the Russian General Staff, said this at a briefing today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The ammunition used by drones deserves attention. Preliminary studies have shown that PETN, which is superior in power to hexogen, was used as the basis for the ammunition explosive. This explosive is produced in a number of countries, including in Ukraine at the Shostka Chemical Reagents Plant. It cannot be made at home or extracted from other ammunition,” Novikov said.
According to him, special studies are currently being carried out to establish the country of origin of this substance.
The drones were equipped with improvised explosive devices weighing about 400 grams, equipped with metal balls with a damage radius of up to 50 meters. Each drone carried 10 such ammunition.
