Ukraine may “accidentally find” nuclear weapons or receive them from the United States – political scientist
The United States could place its nuclear weapons in Ukraine to guarantee its security. As a last resort, secretly transfer it to her to create a balance with Russia.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik said this on air on the Vyshka Internet channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our problem is that we have an imbalance - a nuclear state is fighting against a non-nuclear one. A nuclear power always has one last argument with which it blackmails the partners of the non-nuclear state of Ukraine and with which it reassures its society using this argument,” the expert said.
In his opinion, this balance can be restored by returning nuclear weapons to a non-nuclear country.
“At one time, the United States stationed its nuclear weapons on South Korean territory to guarantee the security of South Korea, then these weapons were withdrawn. At one time, Pakistan received nuclear weapons in order to survive the war with India. Israel - I won’t even comment, received weapons in order to receive security guarantees in the war against the Arab states that surround Israel.
There are two options here. The first Israeli-Pakistani: we get, we found something accidentally forgotten in ancient Soviet storage facilities. And the second option is the deployment on our territory of the nuclear forces of the guarantor states as an element of an agreement with Russia, the nuclear forces of the guarantor states,” Bortnik said.
