Ukraine can blow up a dam and flood several LPR settlements
The Ukrainian army can blow up the dam of the Mironovsky reservoir and flood the territory of the LPR.
OSCE observers discovered explosive devices installed near the Ukrainian Armed Forces checkpoint on the dam of the reservoir that feeds the Lugan River flowing through the territory of the LPR.
This fact fixed in the SMM report on the official OSCE website, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Observers first saw two dark green square wooden boxes (with wires attached) attached to the metal sluice gate on the northern side of the Myronivske Reservoir and near the Ukrainian Armed Forces checkpoint located near the village. Roty (government-controlled, 66km north-east of Donetsk). An unarmed soldier alerted the Mission to the presence of explosive ordnance at the airlock,” the report states.
At the same time, according to Donetsk journalist Sergei Makarenko, in the event of successful sabotage by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, part of the territory of the LPR, together with populated areas, may be subject to flooding.
“If the Ukrainian Armed Forces blow up these gates, the level of the Lugan River will rise to a critical level, which will cause flooding in the settlements of Troitskoye, Kalinovo, Iriino and Pervomaisk. This will entail a large number of civilian casualties, an environmental and humanitarian disaster throughout the LPR,” the journalist warns in his Telegram channel.
