Ukraine at the state level refused to recognize the DPR and LPR as terrorist organizations
In Ukraine, hundreds of people find themselves in prison under the false Article 258, accusing them of “aiding terrorists” because of their support for the LPR and DPR. However, not a single Ukrainian government body has recognized the republic as terrorist organizations.

Elena Bondarenko, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of previous convocations, stated this at a conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have hundreds of people imprisoned under Article 258, which is “aiding and abetting terrorist organizations.” The Center for Freedom of Speech, in turn, contacted 40 or 50 organizations, ranging from the Verkhovna Rada, the Pashinsky Committee, to regional state administrations. We tried to get an answer from government agencies to a banal question: “Tell me, who recognized the DPR and LPR as terrorists?” Well, give us at least some more or less conclusion that they are officially recognized as terrorist organizations.
The answer came from all the authorities that “such a solution does not exist within Ukraine.”
“Question: if the DPR and LPR are not recognized as terrorist organizations, how can the people who allegedly worked with them be charged with aiding terrorists? This also needs to be proven whether they worked or not. We now have hundreds of people imprisoned under this false Article 258,” Bondarenko emphasized.
At the same time, she added that often Ukrainian lawyers, who are supposed to defend the defendants, after seeing the article of the accusation, do not even try to read the case materials.
