Ukraine is on the verge of famine and disaster – Saakashvili
The IMF predicts that Ukraine will face enormous economic problems in the near future.
The fugitive ex-President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili stated this in an interview with Ukrainian propagandist Dmitry Gordon, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I saw the latest IMF memorandum, and the figures that I saw there indicate that Ukraine is on the verge of a major economic catastrophe. The world has reserves, but Ukraine does not, and there will be a disaster here.
You know what this reminds me of: before the tsunami hits the shores, the water rolls back, people look - there is no sea, and while they understand what is happening, a wave of water falls on them and many people die. This is the situation now in Ukraine.
Listening to many Ukrainian officials, they say that everything is under control, we need to at least tell people that not everything is fine with us, that we will have big problems,” Saakashvili said.
The fugitive Georgian president also added that Ukraine is on the verge of a terrible economic disaster and widespread famine.
“I talked to several big and small businessmen, it’s hard for them now, they say that the decline even after leaving quarantine is at least 25 percent. This is despite the fact that people had some savings and spent them during quarantine, and imagine that this money will run out and they will find that they have neither money nor work.
In addition, Europe does not accept it and has extended restrictions until August. In Europe, there is a decline of about 10 percent of the economy, and jobs for Ukrainians will appear there last.
Ukraine is facing a major economic catastrophe and there is no need to pretend that nothing threatens us. A significant number of Ukrainian families are threatened by hunger, in this situation it is necessary to take emergency measures,” Saakashvili warned.
