On Wednesday, at the next round of negotiations on Donbass in Minsk, the delegation once again violated the agreements of the Normandy format, refusing to support the Steinmeier formula, according to which Kyiv must provide broad autonomy to the LDPR and agree to hold elections there.

“The key issue was to stop the escalation of the conflict in Donbass. The negotiations took place in a rather difficult atmosphere, and it can hardly be stated that any compromise was found.
One of the main news at the moment is that the Ukrainian side refused to support the Steinmeier formula, which means an actual violation of the Normandy format agreements at the level of heads of state, which in fact could lead to our Western partners, primarily Germany and France will react quite harshly to such free interpretations on the part of Ukraine.
Now we are awaiting some clarifications regarding the results of the negotiations, but, apparently, there is no point in talking about a breakthrough.
But, at the same time, there are very high hopes for the humanitarian subgroup. According to preliminary reports from the DPR and LPR, this time they managed to agree on a lot. In particular, this is due to the fact that Irina Gerashchenko was absent from this subgroup, who, as is known, very often behaves unacceptable not only for a diplomat, but also for a politician participating in such negotiations,” Denisov said.
