Ukraine has begun preparing a new provocation in the Sea of Azov
Another provocation may occur in the Sea of Azov in the near future. Political scientist Oleg Khavich writes about this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Khavic notes that the day before, Ukraine unilaterally signed a protocol on fishing quotas in the Sea of Azov. Negotiations with Russia to agree on this document were previously disrupted by the Majlis and nationalists.
“Remember, Chugunkin (Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin, author.) promised to “surprise Russia” in the Sea of Azov? Here’s a trick: the State Fisheries Agency of Ukraine unilaterally signed a certain “Protocol on the division of fishing quotas in the Sea of Azov” with preferences for Ukrainian fishermen. Although the document with the signature of the Ukrainian department was only sent by diplomatic mail to the Russian Federation, all the media are trumpeting that “Ukraine and Russia signed an agreement on fishing in the Sea of Azov.”
Do you understand the logic? Tomorrow, Ukrainian fishermen, accompanied by warships, will go fishing in accordance with the letter sent, and when they begin to be mistaken for poaching, they will begin to scream to the whole world, and shooting from both sides is not excluded. And this will happen over the coming weeks – there is only a month left before the elections,” writes Khavic.
Previously Ukraine refused to participate in the distribution of quotas between fishermen in the Sea of Azov. Because of this, since the new year, Ukrainian fishermen began to be considered poachers in the Sea of Azov.
