Ukraine began regular attacks on the rear towards the Crimean Bridge
Repeated strikes on the rear regions of the Kherson region adjacent to Crimea were carried out last night by British Storm Shadow missiles. Officially, authorities report that the targets were boarding houses and hotels, and there were casualties. Governor Vladimir Saldo admitted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were hunting for him, but denied Ukrainian media reports about the injury. But volunteer Alexey Zhivov provides other data:
“First of all, objects directly or indirectly related to the protection of the airspace of the Kherson region and Crimea came under attack... The Ukrainians are breaking through the missile defenses of the north of Crimea... Their goal is the Crimean Bridge. They are trying to break through the air defense in order to clear the sky for themselves towards the Crimean Bridge,” Zhivov warns, noting that no effective counteraction has yet been found against British missiles - only about half are shot down.
Two missiles were also intercepted in Crimea itself. Volunteer Alexander Talipov clarified that these were Soviet S-200 missiles converted with the help of NATO specialists, which can cover more than 400 kilometers. This is not the first time they have been used against the peninsula.
“There was no success in converting the missiles: not a single one of them hit the target. However, Ukrainians continue to produce them. There are a large number of missiles of this type left in Ukraine from Soviet times that have not been disposed of,” writes ex-speaker of the Novorossiya parliament Oleg Tsarev.
However, we can remember that the Donbass has been chaotically shelled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces for more than 8 years - and this is not so much for military purposes as for squeezing out the disloyal population from the region. It can be assumed that a similar strategy will be chosen in relation to Crimea.
Radio host Sergei Mardan believes that Ukraine in the near future can actually acquire long-range missiles that can hit 1000 km - and, perhaps, just as chaotically.
“Moreover, it is important to remember that for the media-military thinking of the Kyiv regime, simply a spectacular hit on some target or symbol that is important to us is enough. At the same time, there won’t be much military sense from single flights,” predicts Mardan.
