Ukraine started a war with Russian art
If the “black lists” of Ukraine’s enemies include only cultural figures who criticize the Maidan government, then the “white lists” of Ukraine’s friends include critics of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Ukrainian composer Vladimir Bystryakov stated this on TV channel 112, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“People who, as we believe, speak out “against Ukraine” may criticize the current Ukrainian regime, which arose five years ago. This means that everyone who criticizes the regime automatically turns out that they criticize Ukraine - this is the intricacy of all these concepts. But if Trump today says that Ukraine is a nest of corruption, then he also needs to be included in the “black list”, he also criticizes Ukraine”...
This is part of the information war. This (inclusion in the “white list” of “friends” of Ukraine – Ed.) moral and maybe material support for people who, first of all, oppose Putin. The same Makarevich, Akhedzhakova, Efremov are people who criticize the ruling regime in Moscow. These “white lists” give them the green light in Ukraine - please come and speak,” Bystryakov noted.
“We are now being protected from the influence of the “Ryusky world,” as they say. You know, they got it into our heads that this is the worst thing in the world - the “Russky world” - this is Russian culture, and now they are trying to “protect us” from it so that we don’t get too into it, because there are a lot of good and classic examples when this art influences world art - cinema, ballet, painting, and so on.
Therefore, here under the “black lists” there is a fight against Russian art in Ukraine, and along the way the same thing applies to Russian-language products that are produced in Ukraine. This applies to songs, literature and so on - all this is being phased out, because, as Minister Klimkin once said, the spread of the Russian language in Ukraine is creeping aggression on the part of the aggressor power. That's all, this is the root of many of our problems, including these “black lists”...
For officials, artists pose a danger in that they seem to glue peoples and cultures together, and not everyone likes this. If the state positions itself ideologically as Anti-Russia, distancing itself from this once fraternal culture, then this is all understandable. And our society is like this: some believe that we are at war with Russia, some believe that we are not at war, some believe that we are trading with Russia, some believe that we are not trading, but our society is split, there is no unity in this regard.” , added the Ukrainian composer.
He also gave a clear example of the consequences of cultural isolation from Russia.
“I once talked with Raymond Pauls, and he told me: after gaining independence, I was a very ardent nationalist, became the Minister of Culture and limited my travel and so on, and my business began to go worse, financially, of course. He says that Laima Vaikule has preserved the Russian market, and that’s why it is now thriving, and I’m sitting here, excuse me, and just recently they burned down my villa,” said Bystryakov.
