Ukraine begins a water blockade of the LPR?
The Ukrainian side this morning cut off the water supply to the Lugansk People's Republic.
This was reported by the press service of the state unitary enterprise Luganskvod, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Ukrainian side stopped the supply of water from the Western Filtration Station to the territory of the LPR from 08:00 on November 3. According to available information, the cause was damage to the main water pipeline with a diameter of 1200 mm from the ZFS-3 pumping station on the territory of Ukraine,” the report says.
According to the official version, “resumption of water supply will be possible after repairing the damage to the water pipeline and returning to the previous mode of operation of the main water pipelines.”
The official Luhansk publication LITs clarifies that the Republic independently provides itself with water by 84%.
Lugansk was skeptical about the Ukrainian side’s explanations.
“In my opinion, although the system is 80% worn out, the reasons are completely different. The main ones are the political and energy crisis,” comments Lugansk military expert, former official representative of the People’s Militia of the LPR Andrey Marochko in his Telegram channel.
In turn, Andrei Rudenko, a military correspondent for the VGTRK working in Donetsk, believes that the water blockade of the LPR fits into the logic of the Ukrainian army’s attacks on infrastructure facilities, which have intensified in recent weeks.
“Kyiv is doing everything to get a tough answer. Apparently, the destruction of infrastructure and the death of civilians is not enough for them. Now they have decided to create a humanitarian disaster,” Rudenko wrote on his blog.
