Ukraine hopes to lure diaspora with dual citizenship
The adoption of the law on dual citizenship will supposedly serve to attract investment from the Ukrainian diaspora.
The head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We would like diasporas to join our ranks of Ukrainians, first of all, of course, Canada, the USA and Australia. Firstly, we promised it, and secondly, they really want it. We have hundreds of requests. I think this should lead to a fairly strong revival of joint investments between their countries and ours.
Here is one of our Ukrainians sitting in Portugal, who has already come up with some creative ideas, he has some start-up money, some capital, and he would like to have some kind of business in Ukraine. He will find a local partner here, they will open a company here together, they will do something. Many countries have gone through this,” Arakhamia said.
