Ukraine strikes back: Kyiv has banned Russian cheeses and sweets
Kyiv, April 02 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Ukraine has banned the sale of a number of brands of Russian cheeses and sweets in retail chains. This was reported by the State Committee for Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare of Ukraine, citing an inspection that was carried out after a corresponding appeal from deputy Oleg Tyagnibok.

Officials declare “the non-compliance of the majority of Russian goods with the requirements of the current legislation of Ukraine, as well as massive violations of consumer rights during their sale,”
Thus, violations of the laws “On the Safety and Quality of Food Products”, “On the Protection of Consumer Rights”, food labeling rules, etc. were revealed.
In particular, it was established that the products of the following Russian manufacturers do not comply with the above requirements of the legislation:

– “Red October” candies;
– sweets “Mishka clubfoot” honey roasted,
– candies “Teddy Bear”;
Manufacturer OJSC “Babaevsky Confectionery Concern”, Moscow:
– “Inspiration” dark chocolate,
– “Babaevsky” chocolate with hazelnuts;
Manufacturer: Rot Front OJSC, Moscow:
– candies “ROT FRONT bars”;
– “Bon-Bon” candies soft caramel, nougat and nuts;
Manufacturer CJSC Russian Chocolate Factory, Moscow:
– chocolate “Elite bitter porous”;
Manufacturer: Lactalis Istra LLC, Russia, Moscow region:
– processed cheese with ham in a slice “President”, 150g, 8 slices;
– processed cheese “President Mozzarella” in a slice, 150g, 8 slices;
– processed cheese “Slivochny” in a slice “President”, 150g, 8 slices;
– processed cheese “Light Creamy” in a slice “President”, 150g, 8 slices;
– processed cheese “Maazdam” in a slice “President”, 150g, 8 slices;
– processed cheese “Slivochny” “President”, 50g;
Manufacturer LLC "Vichunay-Rus", Russia, Kaliningrad region:
– herring fillet pieces “Traditional” in 150g of oil;
Manufacturer: Roskon LLC, Russia, Kaliningrad region
– Atlantic mackerel in tomato sauce;
– natural Atlantic sardine with added oil.
“The State Consumer Inspectorate of Ukraine is taking appropriate measures to remove the specified and other Russian products that are distributed with violations from hypermarkets of major retail chains,” the department clarifies.
