Today's clashes in the Kerch Strait are the result of a whole series of provocations that Kyiv has committed against Russian Crimea, testing the limits of what is permitted over the past years in the hope that each new act can be gotten away with without serious consequences.

Political scientist Vladimir Kornilov stated this on the Rossiya TV channel.

“For a long time, Ukraine has been testing where the line is beyond which it does not need to cross. Do you remember how many provocations Ukrainian leaders, saboteurs, politicians, and militants committed against Crimea. And all the time later, some Ukrainian political scientists flaunted in our studios - “look, Russia hasn’t responded at all!” Apparently, when committing this provocation, they believed that there would be no response even now,” the expert said, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We received a powerful response,” stated Kornilov.

“Then loud statements from Ukraine, protests, demands for release will begin. But these are border violators,” he predicts.

“The command to provoke Ukrainian Navy boats in the Kerch Strait was given personally by President Petro Poroshenko with the approval of the United States, added military expert Igor Korotchenko.

“We warned the Ukrainian warships that they had violated the border and were there illegally. In order to ensure the secrecy of the provocation that suddenly appeared in front of the Crimean Bridge, Ukrainian warships completely turned off all means of identification. Thus, they were counting on the effect of surprise,” he explained.

“Of course, Poroshenko gave the command for this provocation. The United States stands behind Ukraine. Without relying on them, Ukraine would not have dared to undertake such a provocation. There are no problems if Ukrainian ships warned in advance that they intended to sail into the Sea of Azov and received the appropriate permission,” Korotchenko emphasized.
