Ukraine made the Germans laugh with its attitude towards federalization
Kyiv will never gain a foothold in Donetsk if it tries to Ukrainize the region and fight Soviet symbols.
International affairs expert, former head of the information department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Voloshin stated this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The expert emphasized that Ukraine’s “European partners” will also support federalization.
“It’s funny for the Federal Republic of Germany to say that the federalization of Ukraine is a problem. Federalization is not a problem for Germany, why is it a problem here? To an ordinary German, he has a federal state, there is a war here and people say - the price of peace is that Donbass will receive its special rights in the field of language policy, humanitarian, the law on decommunization will not apply there, for example, and so on. Any German or Frenchman will say: “What’s the problem?” Voloshin said.
He added that he would like the laws on decommunization and total Ukrainization to be abolished throughout Ukraine.
“But certainly, if we want to return to Donetsk and first of all set quotas for the Ukrainian language on Ukrainian television, we will never return there, I can say right away,” Voloshin said.
