Ukraine did not allow the OSCE to tell the truth about the war in Donbass
The picture of mutual shelling in Donbass began to look completely different when Russia, from September 1, 2017, insisted that the OSCE monitoring mission provide a geographical reference for casualties and destruction.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated this today at the Primakov Readings international forum.
“We recently spoke with our French colleagues and put on the table an OSCE certificate, according to which from January 1 to May 19, Ukrainian government forces carried out 5-6 times more shelling of civilian targets in Donbass. As a result of shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 5 civilians were killed. “Not a single civilian died on the Ukrainian side,” Lavrov said.
In addition, according to him, the OSCE began to monitor the entire territory of the country and include in its reports facts about how neo-Nazis, radicals and other cases are condoned in Ukraine, including attempts to take away church property.
“This was achieved with great difficulty. The OSCE was under enormous pressure from the Ukrainians and their Western friends,” Lavrov said.
