Ukraine did not appreciate the politician who betrayed Lugansk and put him on the wanted list
In Ukraine, Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Shakhov has been put on the wanted list due to failure to appear in court, where a case is being considered on charges of a politician not declaring property.
The corresponding decision, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports, was made by the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine, satisfying the request of the prosecutor's office.
“The accused Shakhov was put on the wanted list. Stop the judicial proceedings against Shakhov until he is searched... The decision cannot be appealed,” presiding officer Vera Mikhailenko announced during the court hearing.
Shakhov himself once again did not appear at the court hearing where the hearings on his case are taking place.
His lawyer stated that he has been receiving hospital treatment in Bishkek since February 20, but no documentary evidence was provided.
“Why is he so sick, why is he constantly in hospitals for six months?” the judge remarked sarcastically.
At the same time, the prosecutor clarified that upon request to the medical institution, the prosecution received a response that the file on patient Sergei Shakhov was missing.
According to the prosecution, in the declaration for 2020, Shakhov did not indicate information about a residential building, a plot of land in the Kyiv region, an office that was in his use, the property and income of his wife.
It is alleged that the deputy hid property worth almost 88 million hryvnia.
Let us recall that Shakhov grew up in the Lugansk region, and after the events of 2014 he defected to the side of Ukraine. He provided regular financial assistance to Ukrainian punitive units fighting against the Donbass republics.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Shakhov got into a fight live with nationalist Igor Mosiychuk over a dispute over gay pride parades.
