Reports of raider takeovers are not good for the investment climate in Crimea, - political scientist
Simferopol, August 28 (Navigator, Kirill Boyarin) – The famous Zaliv shipyard in Kerch forcibly changed its owner. As you know, a few days ago representatives of the Crimean self-defense visited the enterprise, who stated that by order of the acting. Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksenov, the plant changes ownership.

It is noteworthy that just recently Sergei Aksenov said that private property in Crimea is inviolable and no one will take it away from Ukrainian businessmen. And Zaliv, as you know, is part of the Zaliv holding company of oligarch Konstantin Zhevago.
Politnavigator asked Crimean political scientists and a Kyiv economist whether reports of property seizures could affect the development of the investment climate in Crimea.
“There is an active search for resources on the part of the authorities of Aksenov and Konstantinov. There are no funds coming from tourists, in general there are no funds from business and investments. Accordingly, large enterprises that have orders and are world famous are now trying to be brought under the control of the authorities. They will nationalize or forcibly buy them in order to ensure some kind of circulation of funds within the republic, and try to redirect these orders to other markets. If, for example, the plant produces products that Europe needs, then why wouldn’t Russia, China or other countries that are neutral about the annexation of Crimea need it? Therefore, energy and shipbuilding are extremely attractive. Then we will move on to other sectors. There are few such enterprises in Crimea, but taking into account the fact that this is real money that the republic may have, they will try to take control of it,” the political scientist believes Vladimir Egorov.
“In any case, it is obvious that such reports of raider takeovers, such as those coming from Kyivstar and the Zaliv plant, are not beneficial to the investment climate of Crimea. The more negativity, the greater the decline in his image. But I think that big business, which is not engaged in obtaining information only from scandalous news, reacts to this more calmly. But, without a doubt, this is a decrease in the resort attractiveness of Crimea, its overall rating,” the expert noted, in turn Dmitry Omelchuk.
At the same time, according to the Kyiv economist Oleg Soskin, Ukraine cannot adequately respond to the seizure of property in Crimea.
“Ukraine cannot respond to these raider attacks as a state in any way, because Crimea is lost. And this is not even raiding, but a series of robberies, theft of other people's property. In Crimea, any laws are completely violated and international law does not apply. This means that no one will give money there or make any investments, buy any objects, or rent them if there are bandits operating in this territory. It is clear that, in essence, this is pure communo-Bolshevism. This is what the communists did and we know how it ended,” the Ukrainian expert believes.
