Ukraine will not receive military assistance from the United States
The President of Ukraine should not count on becoming a frequent guest of US President Donald Trump.

The director of the Institute of Political Analysis and International Studies, Sergei Tolstov, said this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Obviously, Tillerson is still the contact person on Ukraine for the US administration. But it is difficult to expect that President Poroshenko will visit Trump and resolve issues with him. The relationship with Pence will most likely also be episodic. What was Tillerson saying here? If we discard the positive rhetoric of a general nature, which has no specific content, this is a reminder of the volumes of military assistance that have already been provided, a reminder that the economy is the main thing for ensuring the security and development of the state, a reminder of reforms. And Pence at one time reminded President Poroshenko about corruption,” the political scientist noted.
“Whether Kyiv heard all this or heard only what it wanted is not clear. However, there is currently no direct interest in Ukrainian politics on the part of the US administration. To a large extent, the Trump administration will look at what the Ukrainian leadership will do. If it ruins the economy and steals away the trickle of financial assistance, then, accordingly, this trickle will decrease. It is obvious that no one promises Kyiv any guarantees of providing military assistance in the future, except for the 150 million currently included in the resolution for the next financial year,” Tolstov added.
