The “suspicion” brought against Tatarintsev states that in 2014 on the territory of the Luhansk region (the exact time and place of the crime were not established by the investigation), he “had the intent to participate in the terrorist organization “LPR”, and was also driven by rejection of “the chosen European integration course of Ukraine “Joined the above-mentioned “terrorist organization.”

“The most interesting thing here is that in Ukraine neither the DPR nor the LPR are recognized as terrorist organizations,” Lyapin points out. – According to the law on terrorism, we have a certain legal procedure. The Prosecutor General must apply to the highest administrative court to declare the organization terrorist. Only after this recognition do legal consequences arise: confiscation of the organization’s property, criminal prosecution,” Lyapin points out.

According to him, nothing similar was done in relation to the LPR and DPR.

“I addressed relevant requests to the president, the Supreme Court, and the Prosecutor General. I have all these answers. That's bullshit. We supply bread there, we get coal from there, people go back and forth. Well, what kind of terrorists are they?” notes the lawyer.

Tatarintsev is also accused of supplying gasoline and diesel fuel to some institutions in the republic.

“We have transcripts of cell phone conversations, from which it is clear where this fuel and this gasoline went. This is exactly what he is charged with as part of the crime. There was also a police station there, to which he also sold gasoline. He did not sell or provide fuel or gasoline to any persons who may be subject to Ukraine's terrorism laws. Only government agencies, albeit of an unrecognized republic. They believe that he supported the militants in Donbass by giving fuel to the kindergarten,” the lawyer marvels.

Tatarintsev is also accused in Ukraine under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“cruel treatment of prisoners of war”)

“Yes, the second accusation is that he allegedly beat Ukrainian prisoners of war at the military registration and enlistment office. But apart from the identification protocol by people who had never seen him before, there is nothing in the case. No evidence. This is pure adulteration. It is no coincidence that the SBU does not provide printouts from his mobile phone for the very day when this incident allegedly took place,” says Lyapin.

He also emphasizes that his client needs to take medication every day because he has type XNUMX diabetes. And he needs medication every day.

“He has sore legs and blood vessels. Which one is a terrorist or a bandit? He doesn't even swear. A person lives with his family and works. He doesn't have a single offense, not even a fine for illegal driving. In addition, the events he is charged with occurred back in 2015. And he was detained in Kyiv two years later. Moreover, the arrest report was drawn up in accordance with Article 208 of the Code of Criminal Procedure - “during the commission of a crime,” the lawyer said.

As PolitNavigator reported, under the new authorities The SBU continues its repressive tactics, worked out under the previous regime.
