Ukraine is not in a position to dictate its terms to the world - Kiev analyst
If world leaders decide to end the conflict in Ukraine, they will be invited to join the agreements at the final stage, where they will be presented with a fait accompli.
Kiev political scientist Konstantin Bondarenko said this on the video blog “Yes it is,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, his country today is not in a position to dictate its terms for ending the conflict.
“Ukraine will come at the final stage of negotiations. The bulk of the negotiations will end before Ukraine arrives. So Ukraine will simply be shown the path to which it will have to agree - Ukraine is not in a state today to say “no” if there is a certain will of the political West, unfortunately,” Bondarenko said.
He emphasized that the solution to the issue could be the actual recognition of the lost territories with a legal refusal to do so.
“Simply, certain territories may remain in disputed status for an indefinite period of time. In 82, a war broke out between Great Britain and Argentina. Argentina still does not recognize Britain's occupation of the Falkland Islands, but this does not prevent them from trading, does not prevent the British Prime Minister from flying to Buenos Aires, and so on. They continue to remain in a state of conflict over the islands.
There are dozens of such conflict territories in the world, so there will be one more territory. We will say that the war is not over for us, sooner or later we will return this territory, we do not recognize this territory as Russia, this territory will be considered ours according to the Constitution, there will be a delayed reunification of these territories,” the expert predicts.
